The Beginning

When we started work on High Score, the idea was pretty simple: I wanted to make the kind of album I’d always wished existed.

Not a “standard trumpet record.” Something bigger. More cinematic. The sort of music that gets your pulse racing, like when you hear a John Williams score for the first time—but with the trumpet taking centre stage.

I was lucky to pull in some of my favourite musicians and friends, and together we built something that felt exciting and fresh. Recording those sessions was honestly some of the most fun I’ve had in my career.
